Tracing 18th Century Provenance in the Royal Danish Library: The Libraries of Gottorp and Otto Thott
Under 1700-talet fick Kungliga biblioteket i Köpenhamn flera magnifika samlingar av böcker och manuskript, bland annat biblioteket tillhörande hertigarna av Schleswig-Holstein från slottet Gottorp och samlingarna från greve Otto Thott. I föredraget kommer historien om förvärven att presenteras.

In the 18th century the Royal Library of Copenhagen received several magnificent collections of books and manuscripts, among those were the library of the Dukes of Schleswig-Holstein from Gottorp Castle and the collections from Count Otto Thott.
The silent witnesses from Thott’s library will be contrasted to books from the library of Bolle W. Luxdorph, which stand out as eloquent witnesses to their provenance.
In the talk the story of these two acquisitions will be told
